Mr. Colombo

I’m Matthew Colombo and I will be the Science teacher filling in for Ms. Parrott during her maternity leave this year.  I grew up in Andover Massachusetts, attended college at University of New Hampshire where I studied Zoology, and later Plymouth State where I earned my Master’s degree in Science Education.  After working two years for Zoo New England, I decided to pursue a teaching career.  Prior to this year, I substitute taught in several school districts following my student teaching assignment at Woodbury Middle School in Salem NH.  In my free time I like to build things, exercise and study languages and philosophy.

About Me:

I am a Massachusetts native, and grew up in a small town, not unlike Cornish. I have always loved New Hampshire, so when the time came, I attended the University of New Hampshire in Durham, where I received a B.S. in Geology. After full-time substitute teaching for a year, I found my calling in the classroom. This is my third year teaching 5-8 science at CES, and I am still loving all the craziness that comes along with teaching middle school students. My husband and I live in Grantham, NH with our sweet little beagle, Duke. In my spare time, I love traveling, hiking, working on my photography skills, cooking, working in my garden, and of course, singing and dancing!
