Principal Newsletter

November 9, 2017

Dear Parents,

Another busy week has passed!  Students have been working hard writing essays, using bar models to solve math problems, researching one of the 50 states, investigating liquids, solids and gases, and many, many other learning activities.  Our week culminates with parent-teacher conferences this evening and tomorrow morning.  If you were not able to make arrangements with your child’s teacher, and would like to have a conference, please contact them individually to make a separate appointment.  The first trimester ends on December 1; report cards will be sent home the following week.

Did you know the Abbey Group provides some great breakfasts?  If your child would like to participate, breakfast is available for $1.50 in the cafeteria before 8 am; the menus can be viewed on our website: www.cornishschool.org

Events coming up soon:

Picture Re-Takes: If you would like your student to have his or her picture re-done, or if your students was not at school during the original day, please mark your calendar for November 14, from 8:30 – 10 am.  You will need to bring in the whole packet if you are having pictures re-done.  If you need an envelope to fill out, youmust contact the office to request one so we will have them available in time for pick-up.  Please call Dale Lawrence to make this request.

Monday November 20, 6:30 pm:  School Board Meeting in the Library

Looking ahead:

We will be sending notifications later in the month regarding ski signups for our Ski/LIFE program, which runs for 5 Fridays in January and February.  If you are interested in becoming a volunteer to help out with the program, please get in touch with Dale Lawrence and she will forward your information to the program leaders.

Also, please mark your calendars for CCPTO events:

December 6: Monthly CCPTO meeting in the Library at 7 ppm

December 14:  Holiday Shop! More details to come.

Have a wonderful and safe weekend.

Warmest regards,

Jennifer Prileson,

Principal
