Dear Parents, 

We’ve had a short but busy week, including a terrific assembly where all students gathered in the gym to receive Student of the Month and Wildcat Way awards.  In between the two awards segments, Lower and Upper wing students paired up to engage in a Reading Buddies exercise. Check out the photos on our website !  All week, our students have been:

  • Making shapes with Playdo with Ms. Dyke and Ms. Patenaude

  • Conducting endothermic and exothermic reactions with Mr. Colombo

  • Learning about the invention of the windshield wiper with Ms. Varga

  • Reviewing exponents with Mr. Budd

  • Using Reflex Math with Ms. Sinclair

  • Discussing author’s purpose by analyzing text and looking for details with Ms. Tilton

  • Counting past twenty using a story-telling approach with Ms. Clement

  • Creating a story line by listening to music pieces with Mr. Foye

  • Analyzing cause and effect in their reading with Ms. Udelhofen

  • Playing Frisbee-basketball with Mr. Holloway

  • Making corrections with letter formation as they complete their writing with Ms. Coolidge

  • Creating and performing plays about the Jamestown settlement with Ms. Dangelo  

Our students are also putting together some of their work for tonight’s Open House – we can’t wait to show it to you this evening!

  • Monday, Oct. 15:  Flu Shot Clinic (free for Cornish students) - please review the attached information

  • Saturday November 3:  Save the date! The Cornish Elementary School Class of 2019 will be hosting an auction on to raise money for their class trip to Washington, DC. They are looking for donations from local businesses, or new home made items (quilts, furniture, maple syrup). If you have something that you would be willing to donate to the auction, please contact Kristine Newbold, Corinne Kelliher or Kate Barber.
