We’ve had another busy week here at Cornish! Students have been:
Skip counting by 1s, 2s, and 5s with Ms. Clement’s class;
Listening to and taking notes on scary and spooky classical music in Mr. Foye’s class;
Reviewing science vocabulary with Ms. Varga;
Multiplying fractions with Mr. Budd and Ms. Thornton;
Using the Keyboarding Without Tears program with Ms. Jones;
Discussing a Native American tale about the origins of Indian Paintbrush with Ms. Udelhofen;
Completing weekly math review with Ms. Sinclair;
Identifying historical problems and solutions relating to the Pacific Northwest in Social Studies with Ms. Tilton;
Making special masks with Ms. Patenaude and Ms. Dyke;
Playing team-building games with Mr. Holloway;
Carving pumpkins and observing color flames with different elements in Mr. Colombo’s science class;
Writing and illustrating stories in Ms. Coolidge’s class;
Working on their Colonial History Journal Project in Ms. Dangelo’s class.

Saturday November 3: CES Class of 2019 Silent Auction and Ziti Dinner. Over 80 auction and raffle items! $5.00 per person or $20 per family. 5:00 pm in the school gym. All proceeds to benefit the 8th grade class trip to Washington, DC. It will also be the last chance to order a wreath as well. Cash or check only.
Tuesday, November 6: Teacher Professional Development Day; no school. [Don’t forget to vote!]
Friday November 9: Literacy Day! Be sure to fill out last week’s permission form from Ms. Jones if your student would like to participate. Students must identify the book character and include it in this form! (Extra forms went home with students this afternoon.)
Monday November 12: Veterans Day observed; no school.
Wednesday November 14, 8:30 am – Picture re-takes! If your child was absent on the original Picture Day, or would like a ‘do-over’, please make sure to have them come to school dressed for a successful photo! In addition to family and friends receiving any you may wish to order, keep in mind these go into the school’s Yearbook.
