Ms. Coolidge Newsletter
May 29 - June 1, 2018
Amazing that we’ve jumped into June already! We are soaking up these lovely warm, breezy days out in our Secret Garden as much as possible. As you can imagine, keeping focused on our “inside work” is a challenge! However, most of us try our best, and just the other afternoon I was delighted to notice outloud how our Kindergartners were working more quietly, like first graders!
I am finishing up typing/publishing the children’s stories and they have been busy at work illustrating and practice reading them. It is such fun to hear their unique voices in these writing pieces and we look forward to sharing them with you on our Last Day of School Celebration Wed. June 20, 10-11 a.m.
Meanwhile, I am reviewing the long and short vowel sounds with the Kindergartners and am pleased with the progress they are making as beginning readers. In Math we continue to work with adding and subtracting games and activities. We all have been enjoying the “Scholastic News” science videos on our Smart Board. We are learning lots of fun facts about insects and Nature’s Gardeners: earthworms, bees and ladybugs...
Please return the Input papers and RSVPs for June 20 (if you haven’t already) by next Friday. Thanks! This may be my last newsletter for this school year as I will be busy with progress reports, putting together yearbooks for the children etc. etc. :) I’m sure you can relate, as you all are juggling a million other things as well!?
Take deep breaths and be well.
