January 11, 2019 Dear Parents,
We’ve experienced a lot weather-wise this week. Students have been enjoying the resulting snow outdoors, creating snow sculptures and forts during recess, and conducting outdoor experiments in the snow, so there has been some compensation for the disruption to our school days. Today’s Ski/LIFE program is off to a sunny start, despite the brisk temperatures outside; students and chaperones departed for Sunapee with great enthusiasm. And our swim program at the CCBA in Lebanon is also underway with afternoon activities ready to start up when they return.
The final tally from The Haven is in: a total of $262.24 was raised through last December’s “Penny War”. Thanks to Ms. Dangelo-Worth and the 8th grade class for running the event (and also for collecting the 450 pounds of non-perishable food items too!), and to all those who participated.
Our basketball season continues to be an active and exciting one, with three home games last evening in our gymnasium. We hope you’ll come out to support our student athletes and join in the fun! Below is a schedule of our next few home games:
January 14 – Boys 7/8 v. Indian River, 5 pm; Boys 5/6 v. Claremont, 6:15 pm
January 15 – Girls 2/3/4 v. Windsor, 4 pm; Boys 7/8 v. Weathersfield, 5:15 pm; Boys 5/6 v. Newport, 6:15 pm

With all the recent snow and ice, it continues to be important for all students to have proper winter outerwear. Please make sure your child comes to school with boots and snowpants as well as mittens, jackets and hats, so they can stay warm and play safely on those surfaces. Our Lost & Found tub still has a number of these items left behind; thank you for checking it to see if your child owns any of these items.
Have a safe and relaxing weekend; warmest regards, Jennifer Prileson
