January 4, 2019
Happy New Year and welcome back! It’s been a short week, but we’re seeing lots of activity all around our campus. The energy level is up and students are focused on learning as they:
applied their mapping skills to identify specific geographic places and features with Ms. Tilton;
worked with 4 Winds volunteers to identify predator and prey, as well as their adaptations that make them successful;
completed fraction calculations and made the connection to decimals with Mr. Budd;
identified main ideas and supporting details in reading passages with Ms. Varga;
compared ice cube melting rates in different liquids with Mr. Colombo;
read about snow horses coming to life with Ms. Jones;
conducted simulated interviews with notable American colonists for Ms. Dangelo;
wrote essays from their library readings with Ms. Udelhofen.
Starting next Friday (January 11), we will begin our Ski/LIFE days. Any students who wish to take a bag lunch with them to Sunapee or Lebanon for their Ski or Swim lesson days will need to let The Abbey Group know so they can prepare a sufficient number of lunches each of those days.
Mark Your Calendars!
January 7: School Board Meeting (Budget discussion) at 6:30 in the Library
January 8: CCPTO Meeting at 7:00 pm in the Library
January 11: First Ski/LIFE Friday!
January 21: Martin Luther King Jr. Day - No School
Lost/Found items are piling up – please come and claim your boots, jackets, mittens and other clothing. Also, in addition to the snow, it’s been very icy around the playground; please make sure your child comes to school with boots and snowpants so they can be safe and play safely on those surfaces.
Have a safe and relaxing weekend; warmest regards,
Jennifer Prileson, Principal
