Dear Parents,

On Monday we hosted parent and teacher Jason Tetu, who brought his students from Lebanon High School to demonstrate some STEM projects with our first and second graders.  The students had to program their tablet and then use it as a remote control device to make a ball roll in certain directions at various speeds.  Thank you to Mr. Tetu for both the fun and the fantastic learning experience!  We expect photos of the event to be up on our website soon, along with those from our 100 Days of School celebration, which was celebrated on Tuesday in so many different ways. We’ll be posting some of the photos from around school, so check out our website and look for samples of student work related to the 100 days of school, Kindergarteners on the march with their announcement about 100 trout coming, and other activities.

February is American Heart Healthy Month.  After our winter break, the Cornish Physical Education classes will be doing a special presentation on how to keep your heart healthy.  Then we will Ninja Warrior (new this year), jump rope, and shoot hoops for HEART.  If you would like to donate to the American Heart Association you should go to http://american.heart.org/kidsheartchallenge/and type in cornish which will bring you to an information page to sign up.

A request from our art teacher, Josie Wolfinger: if you have any photos from field trips, dances or sporting events you can email them to her at g.wolfinger@cornishschool.org or upload them to her google drive using this link: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1vo5MtO6uNCiuRvUd3p18RpOMbAVFGA5R?usp=sharing

The snow and cold wind keep returning! Students still need to have their warm jackets and snowpants, hats, boots and mittens or gloves.  We’re seeing a number of students arriving with bare heads and hands.  Also, the lost and found tub is filling up with quite a few of these same winter wear items, so do stop by to take a look in case you’re missing some of them.

Found:  A women’s watch; a small wallet with cash but no ID; a pair of glasses.  Please call to claim.
