Ms. Coolidge Newsletter
March 11-15, 2019
I really enjoyed meeting with you all at conference time. I appreciate the opportunity to sit down quietly, with few distractions, to talk about your children and share our perspectives. Thank you.
It was nice for the children to have Tuesday off, as many have been under the weather with colds, and tired, adjusting to the time change.
We had a delightful morning at the Lebanon Opera House Thursday, entertained by the Mermaid Theater’s amazing rendition of three of our favorite Eric Carle stories, dazzling with bright glow paint and black lights! This little company from Nova Scotia did a fine job of answering questions and explaining how they put it all together after the performance.
Meanwhile, back at school we have been reviewing the letters Vv and Xx and the high frequency words “ have, of, they, said, want”. In Math we have been working with number bonds and number sentences, becoming more familiar with the facts to five. Practice at home will further support your Kindergartner.
On Fun Friday we will be creating Leprechaun traps and celebrating St. Patrick’s Day early. We will make little books telling what we would wish for if we caught a wee one too. Haddie wrote if she found a pot of gold she would “buy all the stuff my dad won’t get me!”
We all are feeling rather restless with Spring fever, and will be relieved to eventually to do away with snow pants, hats and mittens, if not boots! Mud Season is upon us and hopefully the sap will be running soon. We will celebrate the first day of Spring next week regardless.
On Wednesday Ben Kilham, the bear expert from Lyme, NH, will be talking with us about his work with Panda Bears in China. Before then we will watch a video of his experiences with bears here in NH.
Thursday we are looking forward to our next “Four Winds” lesson on “Owls”, more information is included on the back.
May Spring show her shining face soon! Be well and enjoy. Ms.C.
