Dear Cornish School Parents,

Another busy week comes to a close as:

  • Fifth graders developed their research skills with Ms. Jones during their AIMS class;

  • Ms. Udelhofen’s students rehearsed for their Wax Museum performance with Mrs. Storrs;

  • Kindergarteners observed a local sugaring operation with Ms. Coolidge, Ms. Formichelli and parent chaperones;

  • P.E. students continue to develop their badminton skills with Mr. Holloway;

  • Grade 4 students learned a new way to subtract fractions with Ms. Sinclair;

  • Students practiced their recorders, or rehearsed singing ‘America the Beautiful’ for our concert in May;

  • Sixth graders revisited the concept of theme with Ms. Tilton using song lyrics;

  • Grade 1 students used their 100s charts to learn subtraction with Ms. Clement-Edward;

  • Seventh and eighth graders continued to refine their essays for Ms. Dangelo-Worth;

  • Ms. Parrott’s students worked on their Science Fair projects.

At our last meeting, the Cornish School Board approved the adjustment of our last day of school, with the making up of 3 snow days, to end on Friday June 14.  Keep fingers crossed that we have no more delays or school cancellations, as either of the two will result in having to make up another day in June.  Regardless of the last day, our Graduation date will remain as Saturday June 15 and everyone is invited to attend.

The School Board also approved the 2019-20 school year calendar.  This will be posted to our website soon.

Coming Up:

AAU Basketball continues on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the gym.

Next week we continue with our statewide testing (also known as NH SAS), which goes through April for Upper Wing students; students in grades 3-4 will finish up later in May.  Students in grades 3-8 are tested annually; teachers will be notifying students when their grade level will be participating.

April 2:  * Eighth grade students will engage in a job shadowing experience through the CLIC foundation.      *CCPTO meeting, 6:30 pm

April 5: Professional Development day for teachers; school will not be in session.

April 15-19:  Spring Vacation

Enjoy the weekend!  Warmest regards,

Jennifer Prileson
