Dear Parents,                                                                                                              May 31, 2019

Another busy week, both during and after school hours:

  1. Last Friday evening, the Upper Wing students presented their Science Fair projects, which included a wide variety of questions and topics that were explored, applying scientific method.

  2. With much excitement and optimism, our Kindergarten class released their trout!

  3. Congratulations to all our Upper Wing students for their participation and performance at yesterday’s Memorial Day tribute on the Cornish Flat green.  Among other items in the program, there were woodwind instrument duets and students recited both the Gettysberg Address and the poem ‘Flanders Field’.

  4. Elsewhere on campus, students have been:

    • Developing characters in their language arts writing prompts;

    • Practicing their math addition facts using board and Jenga-like games;

    • Continuing with their writer’s workshop sessions;

    • Exploring the wetland areas close to our school;

    • Completing portrait grids in art class.

This afternoon, May 31st, the "upper wing" students will be hosting a "Battle for Breast Cancer" Battleship Tournament after school.  Thanks to Mr. Budd, his student volunteers and participants and all the donors, Cornish Elementary School has already raised over $1,000.00 for the National Breast Cancer Foundation!

If you haven’t yet ordered your yearbook, you can still have it shipped to your home after school is over for the year.  Please refer to this url address if you would like to order it online:  treering.com/1015502384331604
